Chloroprene rubber

In practice, chloroprene rubber is very often familiar under trade names like e.g. Neoprene. Chloroprene rubber has rather balanced characteristics. Through the corresponding protective means, a rather good ozone and ageing resistance and a satisfactory oil resistance can be achieved. As opposed to natural rubber, a high mechanical value can also be reached "unfilled" with chloroprene rubber and the other synthesis rubber types. Due to its high chlorine contents, chloroprene rubber is flame retardant. It burns within a flame but is extinguished if the flame is removed. Areas of application: Everywhere where flame resistance, good ageing characteristics as well as chemical resistance are necessary, like e.g. conveyor belts, seals, hoses, roller covers, container coatings.
