Synthetic rubber - Styrol butadiene rubber

The styrol butadiene rubber is the oldest and with regards to the used amount the most important synthetic rubber. Compared to natural rubber, Styrol butadiene rubber features a better wearing resistance, better heat and ageing resistance, but lower elasticity and a worse cold flexibility. The mineral oil resistance is somewhat better than with natural rubber. Areas of application: Two thirds of the world production is used for the production of tyres. Other applications like with natural rubber. Very often natural rubber is blended with styrol butadiene rubber, e.g. with the production of tyres.
